On August 21st of 2025 the vast majority of people who spoke at San Antonio City Hall on Project Marvel denounced it. What did Council members do? Voted YES anyway against the will of the people. They have now put us on a path to fund a boondoggle based on shaky numbers, PIE IN THE SKY and “VIBES.”

As people learn more about how we landed into such a horrible deal THE CRACKS ARE STARTING TO SHOW.

Backers of Project Marvel SWEAR that it won’t cost you a nickel of your hard earned dollars; we have ALL heard these BROKEN PROMISES before especially working families of the Eastside. Bexar County residents DESERVE an independent analysis of Project Marvel. The working class of this city are owed the TRUTH and respect for our wallets! VOTE NO!

LABOR DAY PROTEST

WHEN: Monday, September 1 9:30AM to 10:30AM

WHERE: San Antonio City Hall. 100 Military Plaza 4

The Schools Our Students Deserve Coalition alongside labor unions, including LiUNA Local 1095, CWA Local 6143, AFSCME 2021, and UNITE HERE 23, are bringing together San Antonio workers and community members on Labor Day to send a clear message about Project Marvel - that it is unacceptable to spend hundreds of millions of public dollars on a new stadium, while underpaid teachers spend their own money preparing classrooms for the working class students of our urban core. That we should not be discussing massive public investment in sports entertainment downtown without addressing the struggles of working class families in our city.

San Antonio’s workers demand that such a huge investment in Project Marvel should come with an equal investment in public education, public transportation, affordable housing, and should create strong, well-paid union jobs during and post construction with sensible worker protections complete with family sustaining wages.

This Labor Day, thousands of communities across the country are fighting back against the billionaire takeover of our country. In San Antonio, that means standing up for the working people left out of the Project Marvel plan.
